About me

 

I enjoy personal development, and love a challenge. I have a natural inclination towards a crisp, fresh, vibrant style, although I am a chameleon and can usually match any style that is needed. I am proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver; although I often prefer to use WYSIWYG editors, such as Wix, because they allow clients to easily keep their sites updated once they've been created.  If you have any questions about my work, please don't hesitate to contact me.

 

 

Education

 

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia with a double major in Philosophy and Foreign Affairs and a minor in Psychology. Following this, I moved to Australia, where I completed coursework for a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) as well as a Masters in Cross Disciplinary Art and Design through the College of Fine Arts (COFA) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).  As part of my masters degree I completed courses that covered Marketing, Graphic Design, Photography, Drawing, Animation, CAD, Fashion Design and Project Management.

 

 

Experience

 

Before my masters, I worked in administration, professional/grant writing, project management, data integrity and commonwealth reporting. I also did some graphic design work for the Charles Darwin University Research Office, and I began my business, Cait Shaw Photography in 2010. You can view the Cait Shaw Photography website here.

 

Since graduating from UNSW with Distinction in 2012, I extended the business to include graphic and web design and compleded freelance graphic design work for Ron Barnhil, District Coordinator of Aflac and Just Imagine, a small rubber stamp business based out of Northern Virginia.

 

I have also been working as the Manager and Marketing Director for Weinmann Financial + Insurance Services, where I have created consistent branding across multiple platforms including the web and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, the white and yellow pages and all major search engines), and have created Printed media including business cards, fliers, trifolds, and sight sellers, and I manage the business's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Contact Record Management (CRM) System. Most recently, I designed a logo and website for GeoDrone Robotics, a start-up aerial imaging company based out of Northern Virginia. Their website can be viewed here.
